Marvel's highly-anticipated Captain America: Civil War will kick off Phase Three in just under two months, arriving in theaters May 6. Anticipation for this superhero adventure is higher than ever, following the release of the second trailer yesterday, which gave us our first look at the new Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland. Today, we have another tiny glimpse at this upcoming movie, with Jeremy Renner sharing a new promo photo of his character Hawkeye in costume, along with a humorous hashtag.
"Promo images are coming out #newcostume what do you think? #getonmytip #marvel #hawkeye #civilwar #captainamerica"
The #getonmytip hashtag refers to a shot in the trailer, where a shrunken Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) takes a ride on the tip of an arrow shot by Hawkeye. They are both a part of Team Cap, which also includes Captain America (Chris Evans), The Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). Team Iron Man includes Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Vision (Paul Bettany), War Machine (Don Cheadle) and the new character T'challa (Chadwick Boseman), who will make his debut in this movie before starring in Black Panther, set for release on February 16, 2018. We also recently learned that Spider-Man (Tom Holland) is fighting for Team Iron Man in the new trailer. Marvel's Captain America: Civil War also stars Frank Grillo as Crossbones, William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross and Daniel Brühl as the villainous Baron Zemo.
Marvel's Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps-one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
Anthony Russo & Joe Russo are directing with Kevin Feige producing. Louis D'Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Nate Moore and Stan Lee are the executive producers. The screenplay is by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. Get ready to pick a side and join the nonstop action playing out on two fronts when Marvel's Captain America: Civil War opens in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2016.
Captain America: Civil War will kick off the Marvel Phase Three slate, which is jam-packed with 10 highly-anticipated movies.
