Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres in a clip you can watch below, the star corrected her after she said that many actors are auditioning to play "a new Han Solo," adding, "It's worse than that, it's a young Han Solo."

He then jokingly advised whoever took up the role not to and criticised the makers of Star Wars for killing his character off in the recently rebooted franchise.
"Don't do it," he added. "First it seems like everything's going swimmingly, and you put in 25, 30 years, and then they just let you go. And they show you the door and say, 'We're done with you, thanks very much'."
In another recent interview, Ford said he was pleased that Solo was killed off in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. "I’ve been arguing for Han Solo to die for about 30 years," he revealed, "not because I was tired of him or because he’s boring, but his sacrifice for the other characters would lend gravitas and emotional weight. I think it’s a fitting use of the character.
The film will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord ( Lego Movie). No casting decisions have been made public yet but the final three actors in contention to play the younger Solo are Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), and Taron Egerton (The Kingsman).
Despite being killed off in Episode VII, Ford hinted that it might not be the last you see of him, adding: "Anything's possible in space, and the movies."
