Whether you tuned into Super Bowl 50 for the actual football game or just for the commercials, as far as we’re concerned, we should be thankful that we got to see plenty of superhero promotional material during those popular and quite expensive commercial spots. For this week, we got the final trailer for Batman v Superman, Super Bowl spots for Captain America: Civil War and X-Men: Apocalypse, word that Deadpool 2 is in the works, and more. See what you missed below.

'Batman v Superman' Final Trailer, New Posters

You might not have been too excited about the release of yet another trailer for Batman v Superman since it seemed we were getting a slight variation of a trailer every week, but you probably changed your mind once you took a look at the new final trailer for Batman v Superman. This new trailer switched things up nicely for Zack Snyder’s upcoming film by giving us the events from Batman (Ben Affleck)’s point of view, keeping the focus on the titular fight, and also giving a look at some new footage.
Keeping with the promotional push we also got a look at a new image of Bruce Wayne standing in the destruction of what used to be Wayne Financial, and two new posters showcasing the heroes jumping at each other and honoring the “v” in the title of the film. Lastly, in a charming and clever marketing move, we also got to see Turkish Airlines promoting flights to Gotham and Metropolis in two commercialsthat feature two popular local businessmen.

'Captain America: Civil War' Super Bowl Spot Revealed

This will be a year of heroes facing off against each other, and Marvel is asking us to choose a side in the new TV spot for Captain America: Civil War. The new TV spot might be short but it’s very effective with its time, from the chanting in the background and the scenes used. This isn’t looking like a sibling-like rivalry, especially if Bucky (Sebastian Stan) shooting straight at Tony’s face (Robert Downey Jr.) is any indication.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' Super Bowl Spot Teases Worldwide Destruction

Another superhero film that didn’t miss a chance for exposure during the Super Bowl was Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, which also released a new TV spot. This new TV spot offers a look at the destruction and chaos that Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) and his four horsemen want to bring to the world and the massive challenge they present to the X-Men. Also short and effective, with the stand out moment being Olivia Munn’s Psylocke slashing a car in half.

'Deadpool' Sequel Already in the Works

I know, this may come as no surprise to you, especially if you already had the chance to watch Deadpool, but it appears that the sequel for the R-rated superhero film is already in the works over at Fox. According to reports, 20thCentury Fox has already given the greenlight to begin development for Deadpool 2, with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returning to write the script for the sequel. There is no confirmation of the return of Tim Miller to direct, but Fox reportedly has plans to keep the same creative team together, obviously including Ryan Reynolds as the titular hero.

'X-Force' Movie a Priority for Ryan Reynolds

The success of Deadpool is definitely going to open up more doors for the expansion of the X-Men universe at Fox, and in that expansion Ryan Reynolds says that an X-Force movie is a priority for him. During a Deadpool junket, Reynolds teased that idea of exploring the X-Men universe, “There’s so much material to mine in just the X-Men universe … In the future, if we’re doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we’re really going to explore the X-Men a lot. We’ll see. And maybe X-Force — X-Force is my priority. I really want to get that in.”
